MANILA - The Nacionalista Party will be fielding Imee Marcos, Pia Cayetano and Cynthia Villar in the senatorial race next year.
Marcos, eldest daughter of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos, will run for senator "because Bongbong Marcos is not running," Villar told ANC's Headstart on Wednesday.
"Yes, she's a go kasi mag-e-expire na ang term niya as governor of Ilocos Norte and she has been endorsed by Hugpong," she said referring to the local party of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
Cayetano and Villar ranked 2nd and 3rd most likely to win if the senatorial election was held today, according to the last Pulse Asia survey. Marcos placed 13-20 in the survey, with 29.9 percent of respondents saying they would vote for her if elections were held today.
