MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte said Tuesday he would visit the Fujian province in China to inaugurate a school building named after his late mother, Soledad.

Speaking before a group of Filipino-Chinese businessmen at Malacañang, the President said the building, which is inside a university, aims to honor his mother.

"I'm proceeding to Fujian because they --- sa University Fujian they built a building in honor of my mother,” he said in his speech.

The President’s mother was a public school teacher in their hometown Davao City. She passed away in 2012 at the age of 95.
