A magnitude 5.2 earthquake jolted Ormoc City, Leyte on Wednesday at 7:56 p.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

The quake, which was recorded 11.02 degrees north, 124.68 degrees east or 8 km N 78 degrees east of Ormoc City, was said to be tectonic in origin.

The state agency added that the tremor was felt at intensity 4 in Ormoc City, while intensities 3 and 2 were felt in Villaba and Pastrana, Leyte; and Cebu, respectively.
