MANILA - The House of Representatives on Friday reported an additional case of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), pushing the tally of its infected workers to 19.
The latest employee with the contagious disease is from the chamber's Procurement and Supply Management Service, House Secretary General Jose Luis Montales said in a statement two days before President Rodrigo Duterte is set to deliver his 5th State of the Nation Address (SONA) at the Batasang Pambansa.
The 19th personnel who tested positive for COVID-19 last reported for work on July 20. He went home after experiencing nasal congestion and test results later confirmed that he was positive of the virus.
The employee is under home quarantine while authorities are conducting contact tracing, the chamber's secretary-general said.

Meanwhile, an employee from the Committee on Justice who earlier fell ill with COVID-19 has now tested negative for the virus, Montales added.
