ZAMBOANGA CITY—One of the suspects in the 2015 Guiwan bus terminal bombing in this city was arrested on Wednesday.

The military identified the suspect as Isnaji Hasim, who was arrested in Barangay Bangkaw-Bangkaw, Naga town, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Hasim is operating under Furuji Indama, a Basilan-based Abu Sayyaf leader.

The explosion in 2015 left two people dead and 52 others injured.

Commanding Officer of the 44th Infantry Battalion, Lt. Col. Don Templonuevo said Hasim is also a close associate of Hashim Saripa, one of the suspects involved in bombing a military checkpoint in Lamitan city, Basilan on July 31, 2018.

Ten people died and 9 others were injured in that explosion.

Recovered from Hasim’s possession were a calibre .30 rifle, a grenade, blasting caps and other bomb paraphernalia.
