MANILA—Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan on Saturday cleared the air surrounding a social media post alleging that Burham Park has been turned into a parking lot.

Domogan said the Facebook post, by a certain Mimi Casanova, was "baseless and malicious."

Casanova posted the photos on the Facebook page of Advocates for Heritage Preservation (AHP) and said that Domogan "has bulldozed Burnham Park."

As of posting time, the photos can no longer be viewed on the said page.

"This accusation is absolutely false, baseless and malicious. It is not true that a parking lot is being built at Melvin Jones," Domogan said.

He explained that the ongoing project is a rehabilitation of the drainage system and is funded by the Department of Public Works and Highways-Baguio City District Engineering Office.
