MANILA - The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) will hold its voting for the shortlist of candidates for the Ombudsman post on July 20, ahead of the retirement of Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales on July 26.
MANILA - The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) will hold its voting for the shortlist of candidates for the Ombudsman post on July 20, ahead of the retirement of Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales on July 26.
The JBC screens applicants for positions in the judiciary and the Office of the Ombudsman, and recommends appointees to the President.

The council interviewed applicants for the Ombudsman post last June 20.

The following are the applicants to the post: Supreme Court Associate Justice Samuel Martires, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, Sandiganbayan Associate Justice Efren De La Cruz, former Sandiganbayan Presiding Justice and now Ombudsman Special Prosecutor Edilberto Sandoval, Judge Carlos Espero II, and lawyers Rey Nathaniel Ifurung, Rainier Madrid, Edna Batacan, Felito Ramirez, and Rex Rico.
