ZAMBOANGA CITY - A soldier killed in firefights between government troops and terrorists in Marawi City was laid to rest Saturday.

Private First Class Albert Basilio was laid to rest at noon in a hero's burial in a private cemetery in Calarian, Zamboanga City.

Basilio is one of the 69 security forces killed in the ongoing government offensive against the Maute terrorist group, which laid siege on Marawi on May 23. The group is known to be backed by other local and foreign fighters linked with the Islamic State.
