MANILA -- Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio on Saturday told Senators-elect Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go and Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa to fulfill their campaign promises to the public.

President Rodrigo Duterte's daughter, chair of the regional political party Hugpong ng Pagbabago, endorsed the candidacies of Dela Rosa and Go.

"They made campaign promises when we went around, the whole country heard that. They should make sure that their promises will be fulfilled," Duterte-Carpio said in the local dialect.

"We wish them good luck and Davao City will always support all peace-loving individuals," she added.

Nine candidates endorsed by the President and his daughter won in the May 13 senatorial elections, leaving just 3 seats to independents. None from the opposition slate won.

Duterte-Carpio's management of the campaign could help boost analysts said.

"She's projecting herself as a national personality. What's happening today is her testing the waters," said Ramon Casiple, who heads the Institute for Political and Electoral Reform.

"Her image is being looked into, how people accept her. She has her own personality. She's not being looked at as a carbon copy of her father."

The mayor has urged her supporters to stop referring to her as the next president, insisting it would put her at the top of a "hate list" of people eyeing the job. Her intention, she said, was to help her father deliver on his agenda, and talk of succession was pointless until 2021.
