MANILA (4th UPDATE)—Two coaches along Line 2 of the Light Rail Transit (LRT-2) collided in the area between Cubao and Anonas stations in Quezon City, Saturday night.

Evelyn Janeo, head of the LRT Authority (LRTA) communications office, said at least 29 passengers were injured and have been brought to the Quirino Medical Center and Philippine Children's Medical Center.

Transit officials were on their way to the accident site at the time this story was posted.

What caused the collision wasn't determined as of posting time.

A Facebook video showed passengers were still inside the coach following the collision.

Passenger Aya Lopez said commuters did not know at first if the incident was a collision or an explosion.

"Nagtalsikan talaga kami sa may gitna. 'Yung iba tumama talaga sa bakal. Nagsigawan kami, nag-brownout sa loob ng mga 5 minutes. Di nila ina-announce kung ano 'yung nangyari," she said.

Passengers waited for about 30 minutes before they were instructed to transfer to another coach.

"Pagkalipat namin du'n sa isang bagon, di namin alam kung may nasugatan or what. Dun ko lang nakita 'pag transfer ko sa kabila na sumabog pala 'yung gitna, 'yung dugtungan ng tren. Akala ko 'yung unahan," she said.

"Ang tindi ng pagkakasabog niya. Nu'ng pagbaba namin sa Anonas du'n ko lang nakita na may mga sugatan pala."
