MANILA - Representative Geraldine Roman, the country's first transgender politician, gets another term as Bataan's first district representative.
Roman received 147,038 votes so far, based on partial and unofficial results from 303 election returns.
Back in 2016, Roman succeeded her mother as representative of Bataan, where her family has been a political force for three generations. Her mother already served the maximum number of three terms.
In a Facebook post, Roman thanked her supporters for their continued trust.
"Maraming salamat sa muli ninyong pagtitiwala. Makakaasa kayo na tayo ay patuloy na maninindigan tungo sa pag-unlad ng ating distrito," she wrote in the caption.
