MANILA - Residents of exclusive subdivisions like Forbes and Dasmariñas Village can apply for the P5,000 aid that the Makati City government will give to half a million residents, Mayor Abby Binay said Tuesday.
"Tatandaan po natin taxpayer din po sila and lagi po nating nariring na sinasabing kami nagbabayad ng buwis sa Makati, bakit wala kaming nakukuhang kahit anong ayuda," she told DZMM.
(Let's remember that they're also taxpayers and we always hear them saying that they pay their taxes to Makati, but why are they not receiving any help.)
The local government will start crediting the aid to resident's "Makatizen" cards starting Friday, said the mayor.
Those who are not card holders may apply for the aid through the Makati Web Portal, mobile app or forms from village officials. They will get the funds through GCash, she said.
"Kaunting pasensya lang po kasi mahirap po iyong dumadagsa sa internet. Nabubulunan po iyong aming portal," Binay said.
"Hindi po ito 'while supplies last'. Hindi ho kailangang mag-unahan tayo na mag-apply dahil in-assess na po namin more or less kung ilan po ang qualified at magkano po ang kailangan namin. Wala hong mauubusan, basta po qualified," she added.
(Just have a little patience because it is difficult when applicants rush to the internet. The portal chokes. This is not a 'while supplies last scheme'. We don't need a race because we have assessed more or less how many are qualified and how much funds we need. No one will be left out, as long as they're qualified.)
The city government allotted P2.7 billion for the program, she said.
