MANILA—The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Quezon City climbed to 1,518 on Friday, the city government said.

Citing Department of Health (DOH) data, city officials said the number of COVID-19 deaths stands at 134. Meanwhile, 12 more patients have survived the contagious disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 337.

The city government also revealed that the number of COVID-19 cases with complete addresses in Quezon City is 1,397.

Of this number, the Quezon City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and district health offices have validated 1,156 cases so far. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the city is 685.

Barangay Batasan Hills still has the most COVID-19 cases with 62, followed by Culiat (50) and Matandang Balara (42). Meanwhile, District 4 has the most COVID-19 cases among the city's 6 districts, with 298.

Quezon City has placed 34 barangays under "extreme enhanced community quarantine" due to higher risk of COVID-19 transmission.

The national government has extended the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila and other regions for another two weeks while placing other areas under a general community quarantine.

To date, the Philippines has tallied 10,463 coronavirus infections, of whom 696 died while 1,734 have recovered.
