MANILA - Millions in the Philippines will shift to a "new normal" starting May 1 as the country partially reopens its economy even as the coronavirus pandemic persists.
While some areas will remain under lockdown or enhanced community quarantine, many others will be subject to a general community quarantine (GCQ) or the "new normal," Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said.
According to the country's pandemic task force, an area may start the shift to a new normal provided that "minimum health standards are achieved and continuously observed."
