Umapela ang Department of Education (DepEd) sa Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) para mabigyan ng ayuda ang mga guro sa mga pribadong paaralan.

Ayon kay Education Spokesperson Annalyn Sevilla, umapela na si Secretary Leonor Briones para maisama ang private school sa mga industriyang naapektuhan ng coronavirus crisis at mabigyan ng cash aid sa ilalim ng social amelioration program.

Sa hiwalay na pahayag, sinabi ni Briones na iaakyat niya sa Kongreso ang problema ng private school teachers para mabigyan ng ayuda ang mga ito sa ilalim ng Bayanihan Act.

Nauna nang sinabi ng Coordinating Council of Private Educational Associations (Cocopea) na nasa 500,000 private school employees ang sumasahod nang mas mababa sa regular nilang suweldo o hindi na sumasahod sa ilalim ng "no work, no pay" scheme.
