DAVAO CITY – Thousands of less privileged children and some politicians gathered on Wednesday to celebrate the birthday of Davao-based Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder Apollo Quiboloy.

The children enjoyed food, drinks, toys, fun rides and a meet-and greet with their favorite cartoon and movie characters in an event Quibuloy dubbed as the 13th International Children’s Day.

Among the politicians who celebrated with Quiboloy on his birthday were Gov. Aimee Marcos, former Cong. Samuel Pagdilao, former Batangas Governor Antonio Leviste, and Davao City Councilor Jimmy Dureza.

President Rodrigo Duterte, a long-time friend of Quiboloy, did not attend but he sent the religious leader a 3-layered violet cake.

One of the guests, film actor ER Ejercito, meanwhile revealed plans to produce a movie based on Quiboloy's life story.

Quiboloy thanked his guests for coming, but said they did not discuss about politics.
