MAYNILA — Hindi na kinaya ng Quezon City na buksan pa ang lahat ng 12 mass vaccination sites nila dahil paubos na ang suplay ng bakunang nakalaan para sa first dose.

"We have limited supply now. It is not enough for us to open all of our sites. The concentration of these vaccines will be dedicated to nursing homes, persons that cannot go out of their house, bedridden, PWDs (persons with disabilities), may malalang comorbidities, iha-house-to-house po natin sila," ani Joseph Juico, co-chairman ng QC COVID-19 Vaccination task force.

Kaya ang senior citizen na si Claudia Lao, walang magawa kundi maghintay kung kailan ang susunod na batch.

"Siyempre takot na rin tayo. Kailan pa? Eh doon sa barangay namin, wala talaga," aniya.

Pero nitong Huwebes, dumating na sa bansa ang 500,000 doses ng bakunang gawa ng Sinovac Biotech na CoronaVac.

"Karamihan dito more or less 100,000 po mapupunta sa Metro Manila. Matatapos po ito within 2 to 3 days ang deployment at inaasahan po natin na iyong administration nito is within 1 week matatapos po kaagad," sabi ni vaccine czar Carlito Galvez.

Nakatakda ring dumating sa Linggo ang unang batch ng Russian COVID-19 vaccine na Sputnik V.

Ayon kay Galvez, 15,000 doses muna ang laman ng shipment pero susundan ito ng 485,000 doses sa Abril 29.

Nasa 20 milyong doses ng Sputnik V ang planong bilhin ng Pilipinas.

Inaasahan namang bago matapos ang buwan o sa unang bahagi ng Mayo darating na rin ang 195,000 doses na bakuna ng Pfizer mula sa COVAX facility.
