Ten houses were razed to the ground while 3 others were partially damaged in a fire in Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City Wednesday morning.

The Bureau of Fire Protection said the fire affected houses inside Sacidon Compound in Sitio Caga. Officials are verifying reports that the fire was caused by a butane explosion, senior fire officer 3 Riger Dabalos said.

The fire started inside the house of a certain Annylyn Sacidon and was declared under control after 20 minutes, Dabalos said.

The fire destroyed about P300,000 worth of property, officials said.
