MANILA - Former Philippine National Police chief Alan Purisima on Friday pleaded not guilty to perjury charges over alleged misdeclaration of wealth.

Purisima is accused of excluding various properties and firearms in his Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth for 2006 to 2009 and 2011 to 2014.

Also during the hearing on Friday, the Sandiganbayan Second Division approved Purisima's motion to be allowed to travel to the US from April 23 to May 9 for a fraternal organization meeting.

The court ordered Purisima to pay a travel bond of P96,000.
