ILOCOS NORTE - An old bomb was discovered by workers while they were digging in Barangay 15, San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte on Wednesday afternoon.

The Explosive Ordnance Division of Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office was not able to respond to the area because its personnel are in Manila for the ASEAN Summit Training.

Due to the absence of EOD personnel, PNP San Nicolas cordoned the area and advised the owner of the land to temporarily stop the ongoing construction.

EOD personnel from the regional office arrived on Thursday afternoon to remove the bomb. After checking the bomb, they confirmed that it is capable of exploding.
