13 DOH staff face raps over Dengvaxia

(UPDATED) Two non-government organizations have filed complaints at the Office of the President against 13 government officials over the Dengvaxia controversy.

The Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) and Vanguard of the Philippines Constitution Inc. on Monday filed raps for grave misconduct and gross negligence against the following staff of the Department of Health (DOH):

- USEC. CAROL TANIO
- USEC. GERARDO BAYUGO
- USEC. LILIBETH DAVID
- USEC. MARIO VILLAVERDE
- ASEC. LYNDON LEE-SUY
- ASEC. NESTOR SANTIAGO
- FMS DIRECTOR LAUREANO CRUZ
- OIC DIRECTOR JOYCE DUCUSIN
- OIC DIRECTOR MAR WYNN BELLO
- OIC DIR. LEONILA GORGOLON
- OIC DIR. RIO MAGPANTAY
- OIC DIR. ARIEL VALENCIA
- DIR. JULIUS LECCIONES

The complainants want the 13 employees preventively suspended and eventually dismissed from service.

According to complainant Atty. Glenn Chong, the DOH should have waited 5 years for the clinical trials before deciding whether to apply the Dengvaxia vaccine for a mass immunization program against dengue. -- report from Dexter Ganibe, ABS-CBN News
