MANILA -- Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin on Monday designated a former official of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines to head the Supreme Court's Public Information Office.

Lawyer Brian Keith Hosaka replaced Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez as PIO chief. Marquez will stay on as SC spokesperson but Hosaka is expected to replace him, Bersamin said.

Hosaka is a founding partner of a law office and a former IBP deputy general counsel.

Marquez was officer-in-charge of the PIO when its former head, Theodore Te, resigned.

Hosaka obtained his AB Interdisciplinary Studies and Juris Doctor degrees from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1993 and 1998, respectively, the high court said. -- report from Mike Navallo, ABS-CBN News
