MANILA - The environment department said Wednesday it will ask the SM Mall of Asia management to halt its annual fireworks display in light of the cleanup project in Manila Bay.

Environment Undersecretary Benny Antiporda said materials of fireworks such as powder, paper, and even heavy metal, fall in Manila Bay during the annual display.
