MANILA - United States President Donald Trump has invited President Rodrigo Duterte to attend a summit between the US and the leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

This is not the first time Trump has invited Duterte to visit the US. In 2016, then-presidential aide Christopher "Bong" Go revealed Trump called Duterte and invited him to the White House.
