A total of 12 vehicles were buried in rocks and soil after a landslide hit Sitio Grahe, Barangay Busay in Cebu City early Wednesday.

The landslide happened at 2 a.m. following several days of continuous rains.

Among those heavily damaged vehicles were 8 public utility jeepneys, a private car, a pick-up and 2 motorcycles.

Some areas were also isolated because of landslides. The local government of Cebu City already sent their heavy equipment to clear the area of debris.

According to the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council head, Nagiel Bañacia, the road leading to Sitio Roosevelt, Temple of Leah and a restaurant are blocked by debris from the wall that collapsed.

Bañacia said a quick response team from Cebu City has been dispatched to clear the area to allow people and motorcycles to pass.

According to Busay Barangay Captain Amelo Lopez, all the drivers and assistants are safe and accounted for.

A plane crashed at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday (February 17) and injured eight people, officials said, with CBC television reporting the plane flipped on landing.

Video from CTV showed the plane belly up on a snow-covered tarmac, as fire engines spray it.

Of the eight injuries, one was critical and the rest were mild to moderate, Peel Regional Paramedic Services Supervisor Lawrence Saindon said.

Toronto's Pearson Airport said it was aware of an incident involving a Delta plane arriving from Minneapolis and that emergency teams were responding.

All passengers and crew were accounted for, the airport said in a statement on X.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada, the independent agency that investigates plane crashes, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
