LOOK: Ifugao celebrates 'Gotad Ad' festival 2016

<p>MANILA - Hundreds of tourists and locals gathered in Lagawe, Ifugao last week to witness different cultural activities in the week-long Gotad Ad Festival.</p><p>Gotad Ad is an Ifugao word which means a large gathering for thanksgiving or merrymaking.</p><p>Eleven municipalities participated and showcased Ifugao’s rich natural and cultural gifts.</p><p>The festival featured different cultural contests like float parade and cultural street dancing parade. Different municipalities promoted their colorful tradition and products.</p><p>The annual festival was simultaneously held with the 50th Founding Anniversary of Ifugao.</p><p>According to Governor Denis Habawel, there is a need for serious efforts to preserve their culture, including their famous landmarks and rituals before it is too late.</p>
