MANILA - Hundreds of tourists and locals gathered in Lagawe, Ifugao last week to witness different cultural activities in the week-long Gotad Ad Festival.

Gotad Ad is an Ifugao word which means a large gathering for thanksgiving or merrymaking.

Eleven municipalities participated and showcased Ifugao’s rich natural and cultural gifts.

The festival featured different cultural contests like float parade and cultural street dancing parade. Different municipalities promoted their colorful tradition and products.

The annual festival was simultaneously held with the 50th Founding Anniversary of Ifugao.

According to Governor Denis Habawel, there is a need for serious efforts to preserve their culture, including their famous landmarks and rituals before it is too late.
