MANILA - Five policemen were relieved from their posts for firing at a sports utility vehicle (SUV) carrying four students in San Miguel, Bulacan.

The students, aged between 13 and 18, went to a cemetery to ghost hunt at past 11 p.m. Thursday when a white vehicle cut their lane.

The teenagers did not stop their vehicle and were surprised when passengers of the other car fired shots at them.

They only learned later that policemen were responsible for the shooting.

None of the traumatized students were hurt in the incident.

Town police chief Supt. Joel Estaris explained that the shooting was a result of mistaken identity, saying that drug pushers usually hold their transactions at the cemetery.

The names of the policemen tagged in the incident are withheld pending the filing of attempted homicide case against them on Monday.

They will undergo a paraffin test over the weekend. -- Report from Bianca Dava, ABS-CBN News
