MANILA – Former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Avelino Razon Jr. has been allowed to post bail by the Sandiganbayan in connection with the criminal cases filed against him over the allegedly anomalous repair of light armored vehicles.

Razon had to post a bail of P520,000 for 2 counts of malversation through falsification of public documents (P200,000 for each count) and 4 counts of graft (P30,000 for each count).

The case against the former police officials stems from the allegedly anomalous repair of light armored vehicles worth P385.5 million in 2007 during Razon's term as PNP chief.
