MANILA  -- Filipino visual artist Jef Albea took to social media on Wednesday to share his sentiments on the alleged unsettled payments of his creations from the recent Miss Universe Philippines pageant.

This was after the organization commissioned the visual artist to create trophies which were given to the winners of the said event.

In a Facebook post, Albea said he has not gotten paid for the trophies he designed and created for the organization.

According to Albea, the organization refused to settle the amount they had agreed for his trophy creations.

"MISS UNIVERSE vanished into thin air. They refused to pay me for the trophies I designed and crafted for the coronation night. All the effort, dedication, and passion I put in creating these pieces, ended up ignored and disregarded when payment was due," he shared.

In light of the incident, Albea said he "do[es] not need nor will I accept a single centavo from the organization anymore," instead calling on Miss Universe Philippines to respect artists.

"We pour our hearts and souls into our creations. Our ideas don’t just appear from thin air just to work for an xdeal. They are the result of intense thought, deep emotions, and sleepless nights. Not to mention, opportunities missed, money and years spent honing our craft," he said.

"I fiercely advocate for my fellow artists with unwavering passion, not all artists can take and afford this mistreatment," he added. "PLEASE, DO NOT LET OUR WORK BE TAKEN FOR GRANTED."
