'Project L no more': Riot's upcoming fighting game gets title, release date

Riot's upcoming fighting game is scheduled to release in 2025. Courtesy: Riot GamesMANILA -- Project L is now 2XKO. 

Riot Games made this announcement as it gave more details about its upcoming fighting game. 

The game will be available in platforms such as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X, and PC in 2025. 

"We’ve come a long way since the game was first announced, thanks in large part to all of you. We can’t wait to enter this next chapter of development and get you more involved in the making of the game," Riot Games said in a newsletter released Thursday night, Philippine time. 

With the announcement, Riot Games said it will share more work about the game's development, art and music.

Among the playable characters so far are League of Legends characters Darius, Ekko, Ahri, and Yasuo, based on its website. 

The demo will be playable at EVO Japan. As "Project L" it was demonstrated as well at a booth at the sidelines of Worlds 2023 in Seoul. 

Applications for the game's playtest are also ongoing.
