Philippine bet Hanna Therese Cruz was hailed as first runner-up in the recently concluded Miss Global Asian 2024 pageant held last January 27 at the Hyatt Place, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Besides her runner-up finish, Cruz also brought home several special awards -- Best in Interview, Best in Catwalk, and Best in Welcoming Attire. 

She was also selected as one of the top 6 in national costume. Her evening gown and national costume were designed by renowned Filipino designer Chico Estiva.

Miss Global Asian promotes the beauty and heritage of the Asian region. 

Twenty-five contestants from various Asian countries and territories competed in this pageant. The competition was organized by Tiara Management and Leading Management based in Malaysia. 

Cruz is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of the Philippines-Manila. Her undergraduate thesis is about the mental health effects of pageantry to the beauty pageant candidates which was published in an international journal in India. 

Currently, she works in research at a telecommunication company in the Philippines.
