Are you a workaholic, surfing enthusiast, and tech junkie? Then check out Beach Hub in Brgy. Urbiztondo, San Juan, La Union.

Established in February this year, Beach Hub is owned by friends Raffy Castillo, Kiddo Cosio, and Mia Sebastian, who were brought together by their love for surfing.

Castillo owns a tutorial center in Laguna, but for the love of surfing, he decided to move to La Union last August.

“Later on, siyempre, we were still into work so we wanted to have a space which is relaxed, open, breezy, but still conducive enough to be creative. That’s why when we started the coffee shop, we intended to have it on the second floor,” Castillo said.

Beach Hub offers a cozy co-working space. The shop is open from 9 am to 9 pm. Yoga classes are also available at P400 per session.

The place is furnished with mats, wooden tables, and standing work stations so you can work at ease. At P250, you can enjoy sitting on bean bags while basking in the beauty of the San Juan beach.

For those who wish to stay all day, you can do so at P400, which gives you the perks of reading books and access to wifi.

The concept of co-working spaces is already booming, but what makes Beach Hub special is its being community-centered.

The structure is built from materials in Region 1, like the wood from Aringay, the bamboo lamps from Bacnotan, and the anahaw hut from Candon City.

“Whatever we decide on, must be related to the community," Castillo said. "Number two, we have to be environmentally conscious. As much as possible, no plastics."

"We have also promoted the ridge-to-reef market. It’s a monthly thing wherein, we invite La Union local vendors to showcase their products,” he added.

Beach Hub is a perfect place for yuppies who would like to be in an environment where they could work and play conveniently at their will.
