Two artists based in Baguio City and Benguet have created works of art using president-elect Rodrigo Duterte as their theme.

Jordan Mang-Osan from Bayabas, Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet, is known for his solar-painting style.

His current subject is President-elect Duterte. He said he wants to support Duterte after learning about his plans for the country.

"Sa totoo lang, hindi ko siya binoto. Pero mayroon nag-suggest sa akin na gumawa ako ng artwork niya, parang gusto ko na rin siya. Nung nakita ko, maganda naman yung adhikain niya, ok naman pala kapag napapanood ko," he said.

The rainy season is a challenge for Mang-Osan, who needs the rays of the sun over his roofless studio for his solar drawings.

He decided to create a portrait of Duterte with his signature pose.

"Ito yung signature kasi na porma niya. So nung nakita ko sa mga photos yung portrait niya eh nakita ko madaling gayahin kaya ito yung ginawa ko," he said

Meanwhile, Fred Agunoy from Greenwater, Baguio City, created a Duterte bike series.

"Actually, hindi ko binoto si Duterte pero fan niya ako tungkol sa advocacy niya sa drugs. Maganda yung aspect niya na rider, yun yung macho aspect niya na natuwa ako. Gumawa ako ng series ni Digong," he said.

Agunoy created five Duterte Bikes using house and construction materials like door knobs, tire, shower head, and sink.

"Ito kasi talagang walang eksaktong replika eh… bawat isa may character… kung ano yung ginamit kong materials sa bawat bike, original na design yun na hindi pwede maulit," he said. Report from Angelyn Valencia, ABS-CBN News
