MANILA – Actress Cristine Reyes is beaming with pride as her husband, mixed martial arts fighter Ali Khatibi, was named second runner-up at the Century Tuna Superbods 2016 contest on Sunday.

In a post on her official Facebook page on Monday, Reyes wrote: “I’m so happy and proud of you, my love! You bravely faced and conquered your fear last night. It was my first time to cheer someone on stage like that!”

The actress went on to admit that she could not help but become emotional during the event.

“It was so weird that out of my nervousness, I was crying before the show even started. Paano pa kaya kung MMA fight ang laban mo? Nahimatay na ako?! Hahaha! Kidding!” she wrote.

Fashion model Olivia Medina and information systems technician Tom Esconde were named this year’s Century Tuna Superbods winners.

Clint Bondad and Ambra Gutierrez finished first runner-up, while Chet Abella joined Khatibi as second runner-up.

Reyes and Khatibi tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Balesin last January. They have a daughter named Amarah.
