MANILA -- Popular designer burger joint 8Cuts has opened a two-storey standalone flagship restaurant with an al-fresco dining area in Greenbelt.

While located just a few steps away from its original location at Greenbelt 2's restaurant strip, the new shop feels excluded from the busy mall. The corner building's facade, which used to house a coffee shop, is now in a bold black color, making it stand out from the neutral hues of the mall.

In front of the restaurant is an al fresco dining and drinking space that has a bistro/pub vibe. 8Cuts was inspired by “grungy pubs, '90s poster art, and schoolboy irreverence” for the look of the new store. Strings of light bulbs over the outdoor space adds to the overall pub atmosphere.

The whole shop can seat 70 people, with an open kitchen at the ground floor and a sports bar-like vibe on the second floor, complete with a television set dedicated to sports games viewing. At one corner and also inside the comfort room, the subway tiles-cladded walls are adorned with a collage of vintage posters artwork.

There's also a tap at the second floor bar where guests can enjoy imported beer Heineken and local craft beer, Engkanto.

“I approached them because I'm a huge fan of Moment; Manam is one of my go-to restaurants. We feel that our product fits well with theirs—homegrown brand. This 8Cuts not only offer burgers but also an experience,” said Engkanto's Ian Paradies.

Customers can now enjoy local craft beer Engkanto with their burgers.

Engkanto is a new local brand that only started selling its craft brews this year. The beer has since been widely available at restaurants and bars in Poblacion, Makati and now, it's partnering with local restaurants like 8Cuts.

“We do try to cater to local brands, as a local artisanal craft beer but we also don't want to discriminate. If you're a high-end hotel, we're happy to sell. If you're a small Poblacion restaurant, we're willing to sell to you. The only thing, we try to guide them with pricing, because we don't want our beer to be perceived as expensive because that's the opposite we're trying to achieve,” Paradies said.

Menu-wise, 8Cuts offers the same food lineup, from onion rings to its signature burgers. The brand just added a bar chow menu, exclusive to this branch.

Frozen Beergarita, The Cavalry, Frozen Mint-Jito, Cheeseburger, and Fried Pickles.

The bar chow menu include: the Golden Cheddar Mozza Nuggets served with a red pepper ranch dip; Loaded Tex Mex Nachos with jalapeño and 8Cuts beef; The Double Dipper or sour cream and onion dip served with fried corn chips; Fried Pickles with blue cheese Sriracha dip; and Chinatown Shrimp Poppers with kung pao dip.

There are also various chicken wings options (from spicy to sweet) and platters that are composed of a mix of the bar chow appetizers. Buckets of chicken fingers and onion rings are also available.

The bar also serves other spirits from Jack Daniel's whiskey to Don Papa rum. There are also frozen cocktails like the Frozen Lemonade Margarita and Frozen Beergarita.
