Let’s all take a moment to appreciate how Filipino-Canadian Gladzy Kei was able to pull this off.

The Calgary-based cosplayer accurately replicated the feisty Polynesian heroine Moana during a quick family trip to Palawan. She absolutely nailed it, down to the facial expression.

What’s even more amazing? Her costume was mostly DIY.

She hand-painted the details of her wardrobe and she made the blue Moana necklace from scratch. She generously shared tips on her Instagram account.

Gladzy Kei is a visual communications student who uses cosplay to deal with stress from school. She has also done an amazing job of dressing up as Princess Jasmine, Belle, Wonder Woman, and Sailor Mercury!

“I absolutely love the Pacific Islands, here at El Nido Palawan! The water is so clear and blue, and the sand is so fine and white,” she captioned one of the photos.

Gladzy Kei explained that the trip to Palawan was just a small part of her trip to the Philippines. Her family flew in to surprise her grandma who was celebrating her 80th birthday.

The talented artist repeatedly thanked her family for putting up with her “cosplay shenanigans.”

Amazing job, Gladzy Kei!
