MANILA -- Caravan Coffee, which aims to bring Third Wave sensibilities to the cafe experience, joins the hip and happening lineup of eateries at the Net Lima building at the Bonifacio Global City.

The space is meant to enhance the experience of working, meeting, reading a book or enjoying Sunday brunch with the kids.

Caravan Coffee has two main blends: Maverick is a blend of Brazilian and Colombian coffee beans, while Gypsy is combination of Brazilian, Colombian and Philippine Arabica, which, the owners noted, is hard to find, more expensive, and at par with Arabica from other countries.

Besides cappuccinos, lattes and flat whites, Caravan Coffee’s featured coffee drink is the Nitro. Dispensed from what looks like a beer tap, this coffee is cold-brewed for 12 hours, then subjected to nitrogen for 12 more hours to take out the acid. The result a pint of smooth, creamy and extremely strong coffee.

The food at the café is tasty and filling. The Pasta Rossa has a balanced tomato cream sauce. The cream does not overwhelm the tomato sauce and just contributes the richness of this disk.

Caravan Coffee’s Bacon Steak, meanwhile, is perfect for breakfast. Think of the humble “inihaw na liempo” that’s cured like bacon with two eggs however you want it and potato salad.

Be sure to try the Kaya croissant with one of the specialty brews. Kaya is usually taken with butter. In this case, there is no need because the butter in the croissant nicely complements the rich coconut spread.

Caravan Coffee also has its share of alcoholic concoctions for those looking to wind down the day. The Coffee Martini is made with vodka and coffee similar to a black Russian, while Pims Number 1 is is made of Pims liqueur, Sprite and fruits -- a refreshing colorful drink that’s perfect to wind down a long day.

Caravan Coffee has gotten its own share of fans from its host building and from the surrounding areas so much so that they’ve been asked to open a kiosk at the Net Lima lobby for quicker access to those in the building looking for their caffeine fix.

Caravan Coffee is located on ground floor of the Net Lima Building at Bonifacio Global City. Operating hours are from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. during weekdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
