MANILA -- Love is in the air in Makati's hip Poblacion district with the opening of Gayuma on Polaris Street.

Gayuma took the idea of the Filipino folk love potion and ran with it. This translated to tropical-meets-voodoo aesthetics with floating candles, colored bottles for lighting, murals, and a foliage covered ceiling. Drinks and dishes were also created to suit the theme as well, using ingredients considered to be aphrodisiacs.

“Gayuma is food that can feed your passion. It’s something that will bring you a lot of love, hopefully a lot of luck. You and your date can have fun finding the right kind of aphrodisiac in our menu,” explained Tanya Lim Llana, general manager of Halikinu Corporation, owners of Gayuma.

During Gayuma's opening, guests were treated to tarot card reading by expert Rob Rubin, as well as bites of Gayuma’s signature dishes.

Coming to your table in a big glass, Gayuma Signature Drink is fruity and delicious. Easily drinkable, a serving (or two) can get you in the mood as it packs a vodka infused punch with mango and strawberry flavors.
