MANILA -- A mother of two who died during the onslaught of super typhoon Yolanda in 2013 continues to haunt her family and neighbors in Tacloban City.

"Nanay Alice," as she was fondly called during her lifetime, was one of the thousands of people whose body was never found after she was washed away during the storm.

To this day, her husband Rustico Cojas said Alice still visits him and their sons.

In an interview for the ABS-CBN Halloween special "Kababalaghan" which aired on Sunday, Rustico said there was one night when he can't sleep and saw his wife near their kitchen. He followed her, calling out her name, but was shocked to see his wife disappear.

Rustico believes Alice continues to care for their family, washing dishes and even appearing in his dreams when they needed money to fund their youngest son's tuition.

He was surprised to wake up and realize that he has won P40,000.

Rustico added that Alice even got mad at him when he developed feelings for another woman just recently.

"Mahal na mahal ako ng asawa ko at ganun din naman ako sa kanya pero nung may matipuhan akong babae, napanaginipan ko na naman siya galit na galit, umiiyak. Selosa kasi si Alice siguro nagalit sa akin," he said.

(My wife loves me very much and I feel the same way towards her but when I developed feelings for another woman, I dreamed that she was very angry and crying. Alice is very jealous. Maybe she got mad at me.)

Alice's daughter-in-law Jelyn Cojas had her share of encounters with Alice as well.

Jelyn said there are times when Alice's grandchildren were very naughty that she wanted to hit them but she always feels an invisible hand preventing her from doing so.

Even friends of Alice had sightings of her walking around the city.

Pedicab driver Ariel Avanzena said he once gave a ride to Alice and even conversed with her.

Upon arriving home, Avanzena was surprised to find out from his father that Alice has been dead for three years already.

Paranormal expert Jimmy Panganiban explained that the reason why Alice continues to appear to her family and friends is because her soul may not have accepted her death yet.

Panganiban advised the Cjoas family to show Alice that they no longer need her for her soul to attain peace.

"Ang alam niya buhay pa siya. Ipakita nila na kaya na nila kahit nawala siya," Panganiban said.

(She thinks she's still alive. They should show her that they can do it without her.)
