In celebration of its 28th year, Metro Magazine presents this year’s Metrowear fashion show, dubbed “Fashion and Artistry,” to highlight the craftsmanship and attention to detail of the young designers today.

Three ambitious couturiers — Patty Ang, Mark Bumgarner and Michael Leyva — will each present an exclusive collection for the iconic style magazine and its readers.

On October 25, guests, industry leaders, and fans will watch the highly anticipated fashion event at the City of Dreams Manila. Plus, for the first time ever, the Metrowear fashion show will also be livestreamed on the Metro YouTube account, for all viewers across the country -to take part in the grand evening.

Although much of the thematic details are still kept in secret, a teaser in Metro Magazine’s October issue claims that this year’s Metrowear fashion show is “all about re-defining the idea of feminine power, and how it is embodied by fashion.”

True to its claim, Metro Magazine picked three of the biggest designer names that are currently dominating the celebrity red carpet.

Patty Ang, who designed Andi Eigenmann’s stunning white pantsuit for the 2016 Cannes film festival, consequently landing her on the Vanity Fair best-dressed list, describes herself as “a woman who designs for women.” With sleek, crisp, and modern tailoring, Patty’s designs appeal to a universal range of women, from entertainment personalities, to working professionals, hitting a sweet spot in women’s intrinsic needs in style.

Mark Bumgarner, who designed gowns for many of the Star Magic Ball’s best-dressed ladies, including Julia Barretto, Jodi Sta. Maria, and Maymay Entrata, is a master in balancing structure and suppleness in gowns. His creations have been worn by local stars, as well as international celebrities and socialites alike, making him one of the most in-demand Filipino designers today.

Finally, there is Michael Leyva, whose meticulous eye for detail has made him a quick favorite to showbiz style icons, such as Charo Santos-Concio, Kris Aquino, and Anne Curtis. His most known designs feature a stunning mix of beadwork, embroidery, and tulle, which has also made him a household name in the bridal gowns circuit.

All three designers have been given a few weeks to prepare for their collection, in time for the grand Metrowear show in front of hundreds of guests, making the event one of the biggest runway shows of the season.

The Metrowear fashion show will be held on October 25, 8 p.m., at the City of Dreams, Manila. For more information, follow Metro Magazine on Facebook and on Instagram.
