MANILA - Elphaba and Glinda, the two most famous witches from Oz, are back in Manila.

And to give fans a glimpse of what to expect as "Wicked" hits the local stage anew next year, Jacqueline Hughes (Elphaba) and Carly Anderson (Glinda) sang the fan favorite "For Good" for select members of the press.

"Wicked has a big fan base and people keep coming back -- they've seen it multiple times," said Anderson when asked about why Filipinos should flock once more the musical phenomenon, which has captivated more than 50 million people from around the world.

She added: "The show is a huge spectacle. The scenery, the score, the detailed costumes. It's a show that appeals to all demographics, and what people really take away from it is the story of friendship and that is what lies in the center and the core of 'Wicked'."

The second Manila run of "Wicked" will open at The Theater in Solaire on February 20. Tickets are priced from P1,750 and are now available at the online website and outlets of TicketNet.

Based on the 1955 novel by Gregory Maguire, "Wicked" tells the story of the unlikely friendship of two girls who first met as sorcery students. Glinda grew up to be the Good Witch, while Elphaba became the Wicked Witch of the West.

The musical first drew enthusiastic crowds in the country when it opened at the Cultural Center of the Philippines back in January 2014. That run was extended for two more weeks.
