MANILA - The comeback projects of Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres in the Philippines, which were originally scheduled this summer, have been postponed by a year.

In a letter she personally wrote and released to media, Torres said she was already prepared to return to the Philippines this summer along with her sons but “the two projects that were supposed to keep me busy in Manila were pushed back a year.”

The former Kapamilya actress and host admitted that the postponement made her “sad” but she is still hopeful that the projects will still push through.

"My love and admiration for the Philippines and its loving people remains in my heart,” she added.

Torres was in Manila early this year to judge the Miss Universe pageant, which was held in the Philippines.

Torres said her visit was like “coming back home.”

“The love, the smiles, the hugs... it was as if I had never left. My heart was filled with so much love and emotions… brought tears to my eyes… such an emotional journey,” she said.

As she waits for her return, Torres vowed to keep connected with her “wonderful and loyal fans.”

Torres was designated chairperson of the board of judges of Bb. Pilipinas USA. The show will be held on Sunday at Redondo Beach Perforiming Arts Center in Oklahama.

The event will be hosted by KC Concepcion and KC Montero, while Tourism Undersecretary Kat De Castro will also be one of the judges.
