MANILA -- "Teka pinagdaaanan ko rin ito eh," said actor Diether Ocampo, as he opened up about how he found that he could relate to the struggles of the many young people who have been left to look after their families since losing their parents to war.

Speaking with ANC, Ocampo shared that he himself lost his dad at an early age. He said that he had to face a financial struggle growing up.

Hearing the stories of these young people risking their lives by joining the military in hopes of supporting their families ---during a phase of his where he went around the country and visited army camps-- became his inspiration for his newest advocacy.

He said that he does not want these children to face what he faced --that is the prospect of a life of hardship because they cannot go to school or get jobs due to them inheriting other responsibilities.
