When you fail at something, it's best not to call it a "failure."

What you do with your setbacks, according to ABS-CBN News anchor and correspondent TJ Manotoc, who had to battle depression as a teenager, is to embrace them as opportunities for growth.

"I don't agree with the word 'failure.' In life, I feel there are only victories and learning moments," he told Thrive Global, a media platform dedicated to wellness topics.

Manotoc added: "We are not perfect, we do make mistakes, but the key is having a growth mindset in everything you do and seeing every opportunity as a learning experience and a chance to grow."

Manotoc was featured on Thrive Global, a company founded by former Huffington Post editor-in-chief Arianna Huffington, in an article published Tuesday.

He was described as someone who's "passion for health stems from a very personal experience of surviving depression as a teenager and is now a vocal advocate in spreading awareness and hope."

In the write-up, Manotoc also talked about helpful life hacks, how he keeps his phone and e-mails in check, books and quotes that changed his life, as well as the secret of not getting burned out by work.
