MANILA -- Maggie Wilson has started a YouTube channel, offering interior design tips as the founder of the specialty home store Acasa Manila.

In her first video under the Acasa Living channel, Wilson shared how her love for decorating homes started, describing her current style as "tropical deco."

"Interior design for me is when form and lifestyle come together. It's not just about fancy furniture and big spaces, it is a reflection of who we are, a tool that elevates how we want to live," said the former beauty queen, who studied interior design at School of Fashion and the Arts.

"I would call my design tropical deco. It's sort of like the love child of sustainable and sophisticated modern design," she added, saying that her travels also greatly affect her design process.

In other vlogs, Wilson gave tips on tablescaping as well as designing a bedroom with a P30,000 budget.

"When designing a bedroom, it's really important to have two things in mind. It must be functional, but it also must be aesthetically pleasing to your eye," she said. "Because you're going to spend most of your time in your bedroom, theoretically, when you're at home."

"If there's one room you should spend on, it's the bedroom," she added. "You spend half your time asleep or in your bedroom so you must have a nice, comfortable space that you enjoy looking at."
