MANILA -- June is wedding month and while brides are getting ready to tie the knot in the next few weeks, some are still in the planning stages. It takes a few months to a year to plan that dream wedding that is why wedding fairs are important and helpful affairs for brides-to-be.

The Peninsula Manila is known for holding one of the country's top wedding fairs. In partnership with renowned event organizer Rita Neri Event Planners, Weddings at The Peninsula 2018 will be held on Saturday, June 9, showcasing some of Manila's best wedding suppliers, carefully handpicked by the hotel and Neri.

“We will showcase 36 exhibitors. We are not looking for quantity but quality,” explained Neri.

Rita Neri Event Planners has an extensive 25 years experience in the events management industry and has been a partner of The Peninsula Manila for many years as well. The company has worked with some of the best wedding suppliers in the industry.

“It's not only because of our relationship [with Neri] and the expertise she brings, but personally I was surprised and thrilled when she showed us and told us her story on what a wedding should be. And that's really what's it's all about. Weddings at The Pen is all about the stories. It's about how you felt, about your experiences and wanting to share that to somebody else,” said The Peninsula Manila general manager Mark Choon.

It has been 42 years since The Peninsula Manila held its first wedding and has since helped celebrate thousands of weddings.

“Probably one of the things I enjoy most about my job and role. There's probably not a week that goes by when I don't meet somebody new. And as soon as I tell them I work at Manila Pen, they stop they look me in the eye, 'Can I just share with you my Peninsula moment?' I think it goes without saying, this is a very special hotel. The lobby, we all joke in the industry, they will never build another lobby like that again. We're one of the last grand dames,” Choon said.

The event, which will open at 10 a.m. will be held at the hotel's iconic lobby, upper lobby, and The Conservatory. The venue would be decorated by floral arrangements and designs by florists Teddy Manuel and Zenas Pineda. Some of the luxury brand exhibitors will include Bvlgari, Denovo Diamonds, Jewelmer, Charriol, Rosa Clara, AirTaxi, Amanpulo Resort, and The Farm at San Benito, to name a few.

Penk Ching will also feature her best cake designs, while Salcedo Auctions will showcase its art selection.

The Conservatory will hold the main fair, featuring exclusive wedding suppliers.

The event will end with a grand bridal fashion show featuring some of the country's top designers -- Jojie Lloren, Mark Bumgarner, Michael Leyva, Joey Samson, and Mark Tumang.

“But what really makes weddings at The Peninsula special are the countless number of people who work behind the scenes to make that magic happen,” the general manager noted.
