BACOLOD -- To boost the morale of our dear frontliners, ordinary citizens are spearheading initiatives to help them cope with the burden of their work.

Bacolodnon artist Philip Aldrin Nalang has his own and unique way of showing support. He transforms everyday footwear into colorful tributes of wearable art.

“Deserve gid nila nga ma-recognize because of their bravery during this pandemic that we are facing right now,” says Nalang.

Taking inspiration from his two sisters who are practicing nurses, he hopes to encourage his fellow artists to create art dedicated to our modern-day heroes to boost their morale especially during this time of uncertainty.

“It’s very overwhelming nga makita nila ang support even through little things like this,” he says.
