MANILA — Here's a dose of nostalgia for '90s kids.
Millennials will remember "Hiraya Manawari," the well-loved ABS-CBN values education program featuring Filipino folklore.
For eight years since 1995, its theme song was a familiar morning tune for children tuned in to ABS-CBN.
Composed by National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab, the song "Hiraya Manawari" was originally performed by Cris Villonco.
On Thursday, theater performer Teetin Villanueva and Arvy Dimaculangan shared a fresh rendition on Twitter that has since drawn over a thousand likes and hundreds of comments, mostly from millennials thanking them for two minutes of nostalgia.
"Hiraya Manawari" was among the slate of educational programs of ABS-CBN Foundation that started in the '90s, along with "Sineskwela" and "Bayani."
The trio of programs returned in March this year, as part of ABS-CBN's temporary TV programming amid the coronavirus lockdown, until the government shutdown of the network's broadcast in May.
