MANILA -- Here are some of the latest promos and shopping deals you wouldn't want to miss on payday weekend.

1. Jo Malone opens in Resorts World Manila

Jo Malone London opened its newest store in the Newport Mall at Resorts World Manila in time for Mother’s Day weekend that included a limited run of its engraving services.

“There’s engraving with Jo Malone London in other countries, but it’s the first time that we’re having engraving services done in the Philippines -- to celebrate the launch of our new branch in Resort World Manila, and as Mother’s Day treat as well,” explained Pauline De Jesus, marketing manager of Jo Malone in Manila.

The luxury brand from London offers cologne, candles, and body and bath creams, and, with their trademark packaging, is known for their customizable scents.

“What makes Jo Malone special is that we have fragrance combining, and this gives everyone their unique scent, so you can mix and match depending on what you feel. The nice thing about it is that it’s a lifestyle brand — it can depend on your mood,” De Jesus added.

There are three ways that Jo Malone recommends when trying out fragrance combining, but it’s always a guided process with Jo Malone’s staff helping customers through it. With 21 base scents that you can combine to create your own fragrance, getting a bottle (or candle, or pot for cremes) is a unique and decadent gift for yourself or for others.

“It’s very flexible—men or women can wear it. It’s a common misconception that Jo Malone is [only] for women, but actually, we have a lot of fragrances for men, as well,” said De Jesus.

Some of its popular scents include the iconic 154 -- fresh and spicy (also named after the address of their first London store) -- and the light ang fragrant Lime, Basil and Mandarin cologne. -- Joko Magalong-De Veyra

2. Fujifilm launches new Instax camera

Fujifilm Corp. has launched the Instax Square SQ6 that is compatible with square format film. The new addition to the Instax series of instant camera lineup allows users to enjoy on-the-spot photo printing.

The SQ6 has a variety of functions that can be used in any situation. The camera has an automatic exposure adjustment function that is activated when the shutter button is pressed. It detects the ambient brightness and adjusts to provide the optimum shutter speed and flash light intensity.

When taking a selfie, simply set the camera to selfie-mode and the settings will be adjusted to the optimum focus and brightness. There is also a self-shot mirror attached to the side of the lens allowing you to check the shooting range. Tripod holes in the bottom of the main unit and a timer can be also useful for group photos.

The camera has three modes. The “Double Exposure Mode” allows two photos to be overlapped on a single film when the shutter button is pressed twice; the “Macro Mode” can take short-range photos up to a minimum of 30cm; and the “Landscape Mode” can be used to take long-range landscape photos.

It also includes three flash color filters (orange/purple/green) that once placed over the flash will change the color of the overall photo, allowing users to achieve a more unique and textured photo.

3. Furla collaborates with Hello Kitty

Hello Kitty meets Furla in an original creative collaboration that connects East and West.

Furla’s Metropolis crossbody serves as a palette for three digital prints starring Hello Kitty on a pink, red, or blue background.

A fourth Furla Metropolis features a white Ares calfskin body with a wide strap in black leather and Hello Kitty’s face as the flap.

This partnership continues with accessories like micro bags, key rings, credit card cases, Saffiano beauty cases, and pouches pick up the prints and themes of the Metropolis.

Products in the Furla Hello Kitty collection will be available in selected Furla flagship stores starting May 15.

4. DC Shoes releases Manteca collection

DC Shoes re-introduces one of its most iconic silhouette now constructed with a modern update and new technology with the DC Manteca collection, which features the Manteca TX SE and the Manteca SE.

DC Shoes utilizes its trademarked IMPACT-G technology, a heel impact protection gel that disperses the shock of impact from big drops and harsh landings – promising maximum heel impact absorption each time.

This component coupled with a new foam faded package in the tongue, a collar lining, and an abrasion-resistant sticky rubber outsole ensure a more protective and supportive fit for aggressive skaters.

The Manteca TX SE, which comes in black and red, features a heavyweight canvas construction backed by DC Shoes’ super canvas reinforcement. Meanwhile, the Manteca SE, which comes in white, features a special leather upper that's durable out on the streets.

5. Pahina Project to raise 2,000 notebooks

Viviamo! Inc., makers of the Belle de Jour Power Planner and Navi: Your Life Navigator Journal, has created its newest product, the BDJ Advocacy Notebooks, which are minimally designed to encourage artistry among students.

The words on the cover are intentional. The statement “Balang araw, ako’y magiging ___” intends to inspire the notebook’s users to dream for themselves. Meanwhile, the words Masigasig (diligent), Maabilidad (resourceful) and Malikhain (creative) aim to motivate its users to keep on pursuing their dreams.

To kick off this project, Viviamo! Inc. launches The Pahina Project, a campaign that is geared towards providing quality notebooks to chosen beneficiaries for free. The goal is to raise 2,000 notebooks for donation to select public schools in the Philippines. To reach this number, for every notebook bought, Viviamo! donates one. It also gives options to buy and donate both notebooks to deserving students.

6. Jill by Jojie Lloren releases Summer 2018 collection
