MANILA – The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) honored ABS-CBN, cable channel ANC and radio station DZMM for championing the country’s culture and traditions during the agency’s 30th founding anniversary celebration.

ABS-CBN, ANC and DZMM were lauded for consistently displaying “steadfast support to the Commission through the promotion of programs, projects and activities that showcase the diversity and uniqueness of our culture and artistic traditions in its TV and radio shows and programs.”

NCCA cited as example the ANC documentary series “Dayaw,” a six-part weekly show aimed at promoting appreciation and preservation of traditional Filipino arts and culture. The show is hosted by Senator Loren Legarda.

Kapamilya stars were also recognized by NCCA for their role as celebrity ambassadors.

They are Piolo Pascual (Culture Ambassador), Sarah Geronimo (Music Ambassador), Ogie Alcasid (Heritage Ambassador/ASEAN Ambassador), Boy Abunda (Arts Ambassador), Enchong Dee (Heritage Ambassador) and Jericho Rosales (Heritage Ambassador).
